Someone forwarded this letter to us from Franklin Alderman Bev Burger, telling people the Williamson County Republican Party’s Elevate 2025 candidates will take away Republicans’ right to vote in primaries.

Here are the facts: The WCRP members and leadership are concerned about crossover voting.
In the March 2024 primary, it is estimated that approximately 13% of voters in the Republican primaries were Democrats. This must stop! Democrats should not be selecting Republican nominees.
For many years, the Tennessee GOP has urged the General Assembly to address crossover voting by implementing party registration, and the General Assembly has declined to do so. This year, another party registration bill, HB1159/SB0831, has been filed. The Elevate 2025 candidates, along with the WCRP and the Tennessee GOP, continue to strongly urge the General Assembly to pass this legislation.
If party registration legislation is not passed and nothing else is done, Democrats will continue to nominate RINO candidates and disenfranchise conservative voices.
The current WCRP board has taken steps to highlight this issue and work for solutions; our new Elevate board will continue to do so.
It’s also worth noting that the candidates Alderman Burger is supporting, running under the banner of “Williamson County Conservatives,” falsely state on their website they are “THE ONLY Conservative ticket running for the Board of the Williamson County Republican Party at the March 4th Reorganization Convention.”
The Elevate 2025 candidates are conservative to our core, and we have a proven track record of promoting conservative values. Five of the eight Elevate candidates are members of the WCRP’s current leadership board, which was overwhelmingly elected in the 2023 reorganization.
The Elevate 2025 candidates aim to build on the progress made the past two years as well as expand the WCRP’s reach beyond Franklin to other Williamson County communities. Check out our platform for yourself: https://www.elevate-2025.com/
